Handel’s Messiah is one of the world’s favourite choral works: visionary, lyrical and deeply human. Sydney Chamber Choir is thrilled to be presenting this Baroque masterpiece: a joy to perform, a joy to hear, and an absolute treasure-trove of glorious choruses.


REQUIEM

Award-winning composer and former Sydney Chamber Choir Musical Director Paul Stanhope returns to lead the choir in the world premiere performance of his Requiem, the centrepiece of a program exploring themes of mortality, hope, ritual and commemoration.

Frank Martin’s sublime Mass for Double Choir lay hidden for 40 years before the composer let anyone hear it! Inspired by the perfection of Bach, it also draws on the flowing lines of plainchant to create a work of exceptional emotional intensity.
